Youth Missions

With a passion for following the Biblical command to put our faith into action, Ruggles Baptist Church seeks to provide youth with the chance to bond with each other and to serve together.  We offer our teens an annual hands-on opportunity to get out of the Boston area and serve others, which helps to supplement our rich weekly junior church classes. 

Snow Camp

As preparation for the annual summer teen mission trip, we provide an opportunity for teens and leaders to bond together during a winter weekend full of worship and fun.  Recently this has been with Berea Deep Freeze.  This is a great opportunity for fun, group bonding and connecting with God (For more information, please visit www.berea.org). 

Summer Teen Mission Trips

During the summer mission trip, we serve together, with Groupworkcamps Foundation (www.groupworkcamps.com). The purposes of the teen summer mission trip are:

(1) to deepen our relationships with God,

(2) to serve others in need,

(3) to meet other teen believers from around the country (we are not alone),

(4) to bond as a youth group,

(5) to have cross cultural experiences as we serve, worship and bond, and

(6) to have fun! 

For a number of years, we have participated in week long summer camps with Group Workcamps Foundation, an interdenominational worship and service-oriented organization dedicated to deepening teen relationships with God, and service for people in need.  During the week of camp, we do painting and light construction, such as building wheel chair ramps and repairs for residents at or below the poverty line in a variety of communities.  Recent trips have taken us to the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana, the Ute Reservation in Utah, the town of Cuba, New Mexico and Washington, New Jersey.  As a result of these short term mission trips, we have seen God at work in ourselves and in the lives of the people we have served….to say nothing about the fun we have experienced as a group!
