Experience A HouseChurch

One of the expressions of our community of faith that is developing alongside our traditional church structure is the establishment of  local house churches in the homes of a few of our members. This approach to our spiritual journey is a practical help to the spiritual growth of people in our church. We’d love to have you come join us each week! If you’re not sure exactly what a house church is, here are some thoughts and Scriptures that can help get you started.

What Are HouseChurches?

HouseChurches are small communities that encourage the transforming work of the Holy Spirit through worship, teaching, prayer and community relationships. The most famous small community in Scripture was Jesus and the twelve disciples. House churches are mentioned in the Bible. These home gatherings are examples of small group relationships at work in the New Testament.

HouseChurch Purpose

The HouseChurch’s purpose is to support the overall purpose the Ruggles Church community, which is, “To be a community of believers in Jesus Christ that worships God and enables one another, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to fulfill each person’s calling to glorify God and expand His Kingdom.“  HouseChurch is where vital relationships are formed, God is worshiped, and the Word of God is studied and applied. It’s a place where people pray for one another, and the Holy Spirit is present.

Where Are Our Current HouseChurches Located?

Currently we have two HouseChurches meeting each week (check calendar for exceptions). We are pleased to have you come and see!  The first group meets on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm at a nearby home on Beacon Street.  We call it the Cleveland Circle HouseChurch as it is only a few hundred feet from the end of the Cleveland Circle “C” line.

The second HouseChurch meets in Milton on Tuesday nights starting at 6:45 pm. The location is within walking distance of the Red Line – take the Central Avenue stop on the Mattapan Extension of the Red Line. Be sure to call or email (info below) to make sure it is meeting each week.

Feel free to contact us via phone, email or the website to find out more about visiting us!  And stay tuned for additional housechurches that may be starting in the future! Again the contact information is 617-266-3633 and office@rugglesbaptistchurch.org.
